Ebenezer Chapel, Milford - a rare riverside conversion of a large Methodist Chapel and Schoolroom
Set in the conservation area of the historic mill village of Milford in the wooded valley of the River Derwent. With river views, industrial heritage on the doorstep and plenty of walking nearby, it is a standout choice for big group breaks in Derbyshire.
Inside, this fine stone building has been skilfully converted to keep its original charm - exposed beams, original pews, marble plaques, chapel doors and the old pulpit featured in the balconied lower lounge. Designed for large family parties, it sleeps up to 20 guests (including flexible extra beds in the second lounge) and includes a fully equipped kitchen with large range cooker, multiple bath and shower rooms with several en-suites, WiFi, and a Finnish sauna suite.
Outside you will find a large raised patio garden with ramp access, picnic tables and a barbecue area (please bring your own charcoal), plus easy street parking at the chapel gate and just down the lane.
