NATURE IN ART is the world's first museum dedicated exclusively to art inspired by nature from any period, any culture and in any media. Its unrivalled and growing collection spans over 1500 years and embraces work from over 60 countries and cultures. The ever-changing exhibits are unique in scope, appeal and stature. Visit Nature in Art and you could see work by artists as diverse as Pablo Picasso, Peter Scott, Jan van Kessel, Michael Porter and David Shepherd. There is always something for everyone!
Twice specially commended in the National Heritage Museum of the Year Awards, the collection is housed in a fine Georgian mansion, Wallsworth Hall, featured in Simon Jenkins's book 'England's Thousand Best Houses'.
A regular programme of temporary exhibitions and loan exhibits from other collections around the world, ensure that a visit to Nature in Art is a stimulating experience. On average at least 15 special exhibitions are held each year, including some in the gardens.
In addition, over 60 artists in residence demonstrate their skills each year in the purpose built art studio so visitors can see work being created. For those wanting to have a go themselves there's a programme of courses and activities for both adults and children.
A coffee shop overlooking the gardens serves lunches and teas all day, and there's shop too.
